"Why can't we have pasta and tuna every day?"
"My favourite is collecting up the plates."
"My Mummy doesn't make this the same. Can you tell her how to?"
Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and supper are available for those children who are in the nursery at the appropriate times.
We are particularly proud of our cooked meals, using fresh ingredients, whole grain breads and pastas and not a shop bought biscuit in sight! We don't prepare meat but do include fish.
The children grow vegetables in the garden as part of their outside activities.
No child is made to eat anything, however, we often find that children will eat things outside of the home that you might not expect them to!!
Remember to let us know about any allergies so that these can be catered for.
Some of the meals the children enjoy are :-
- Vegetable lasagne
- Jacket potato with different fillings
- Cauliflower cheese
- Pasta with homemade tomato sauce
- Broccoli bake
- Fish pie
- Vegetable shepherd's pie
- Pasta, tuna and sweetcorn bake
The children have a mid-morning snack around 10 and afternoon tea around 3. This is usually a variety of :-
- Fresh fruits
- Cheese
- Raisins
- Crumpets or muffins
- Wholemeal bread with honey, jam, marmite
- Homemade cake
- Natural live yogurt and fruit or honey
We place a lot of importance on manners at the table which encourages the children to show consideration for others and appreciation for whoever has prepared their food. It is also good training for eating out!

Why not try one of the children's favourite recipes (opens in a pop-up window).
